You can decide to team up with others, making a large fortress, perhaps even town where you work together in order to survive and scavenge the wasteland. Although to be fair in the zombie apocalypse who can you ever really trust! You can try and play on your own if you want, but that is very hard. One of the most interesting aspects of 7 Days To Die for me is the way it handles how you deal with other people. I found a nice mix of electric fences and traps did the trick! Friend or Foe? You really need to think about how you design your fortress so that the dead stay out and it is not easy for the living to get in either. You can then build up your home base any way that you see fit. You take over what is usually some kind of a run-down dump. There are hundreds of ways you can make useful items and this is very addictive and will have you wanting to stay out on your supply run just a little longer to find some stuff.īuilding your homestead is one of the best parts of this game for me. You will need to scavenge for supplies though to make these kind of things. You have plenty of weapons, resources, clothes and so on that, you can make use of. Build It!Ī huge part of getting through this game is all about the crafting and the building. Also, you can play the game in an open world sandbox “creative” kind of way as well which is pretty neat. I found the story quite interesting and if you are a fan of things like The Walking Dead and zombie movies, you will enjoy the narrative here. The campaign is fantastic and something that I did have a lot of fun with. Many games have tried to do this, but the zombie decimated world that they have created here is like a giant playground and it is one of the more interesting open worlds that I have experienced in a game like this. What I really liked about 7 Days To Die was the way that it tried to really make you feel like you were in a zombie apocalypse. Sure, the Xbox One version is not too hot, but the PC version I am looking at today is actually a damn solid zombie-filled game that is going to really get your blood pumping. Many people still stand by 7 Days To Die as being one of the best zombie games ever made. Each time you head out of your home base, you never know if you will be coming back! There is a real risk and reward thing going on here in regards to the crafting and loot gathering portion of the game. We are talking about stuff like weapons, ammo, building resources, clothes and more. You have tons of stuff that you can make in this game. One of the main aspects of this game is not just fighting off the undead and other survivors. Still, trying to survive in this undead hell all by yourself does make you feel like a badass. Working together does have its advantages and with the right people, it can be a great deal of fun. I was pretty much suspicious of everyone out there, but I did team up at one point and we had a pretty good community going. I had a great deal of fun playing the game on my own. As well as playing it on your own, you can also jump into a sandbox mode which in all honesty is not my cup of tea, but it was still fun. The game throws a lot of objectives your way so it is going to take you a fair bit of time to get through. It has a kind of Walking Dead/28 Days Later thing going on and that is cool with me. The title's PC version is currently in development in Steam Early Access. There is a campaign in 7 Days To Die and it is pretty much what you would expect. That's what we know so far about 7 Days to Die's Alpha 21 release date. We'll know for sure when we get official word on the matter, and we'll be sure to update this article as soon as that happens. A more likely scenario is that we'll see it dropping at some point later in 2023.Īt the same time, the developer has worked on expanding its team, which could see the pace of updates pick up. This makes it very likely that we won't see 7 Days to Die's Alpha 21 release date before Q2 2023, but expecting it to launch then feels a bit optimistic. New major updates have dropped roughly once per year in recent memory, smaller subsequent additions bringing fixes and additional polish. Looking back at how often the title was updated over the past couple of years, we're led to believe that we have a fairly lengthy wait ahead of us. With the last content drop so fresh in everyone's memory and a holiday break shortly following it, the developer hasn't revealed much about when we can expect it. Unfortunately, the 7 Days to Die Alpha 21 release date is unknown at the moment.
